In 2017, The Flying Moa was proud to host the second annual Weiner Dog Derby, which saw Ruby take the gold medal after a nail-biting race against Brody and Marlow.

After the previous years' success, we couldn't stray from a new tradition - sausage dogs flocked from all over Auckland to chance their shot at bragging rights; but in the end there could only be one.

We want to thank everyone for coming out to Mount Wellington for the festivities, and especially to those who stayed around for the sausage sizzle (it's not what you think) and a refreshment or two after the race.
