Garrison Public House is a gastrobar that’s on-site at Sylvia Park, with a classic kiwi pub food menu that will leave you grinning. When the sun comes out this Christmas, you’ll want to hit their covered outdoor beer garden which can be booked for up to 100 people. Inside, you’ll find plenty of room for your party with up to 300 in the energetic bar area including big TVs and even an HD projector. For smaller groups, the social dining area is perfect—slightly elevated from the bar for a semi-private feel including wrap-around couches that will make you feel right at home this Christmas. The Restaurant area is also available for booking, with plenty of natural light, light wood and greenery for a fresh Christmas feel, or have a completely private experience in the Carbine Room for up to 45 seated guests that enjoys all of the perks of being a private function space.

Sparkling Harbourside Christmas at Five Knots
Looking for a private venue hire for Christmas with waterfront views? Five Knots is perched on a pier right in front of panoramic ocean views, near the Tamaki Yacht Club. The entire establishment was designed for special events like Christmas parties and is only available by booking. You’ll need to get in quick, because it’s one of the most beautiful private venue spaces available in Auckland. The Commodore Room has a 180 degree view of Rangitoto Island and Auckland City for up to 120 people cocktail style, or you can book the Five Knots Room with its stunning A-frame ceiling and neutral decor, surrounded by windows that overlook the East and West for up to 190 people.
A Very Kiwi Christmas at The Flying Moa
The Flying Moa is another locals favourite near Auckland’s city fringe. The cherished gastropub are known for their light bites and unmistakable Kiwi feel, with endless combinations of spaces to create the perfect spot for your Christmas party. Set up shop in front of the bar, a casual space with high tables perfect for small groups of up to 30 seated. Up top, you’ll find the raised pub with a pool table and 60” TV for keeping crowds occupied. The main restaurant will seat 60 with a warm and welcome vibe, including huge sliding doors that open up to the elements for fresh air and a light breeze. Dial-up the Christmas festivities outside on the deck for 45 seated guests or 80 cocktail, including a portable bar and personal bartender and options for covered and uncovered spaces.

Tucked away on the edge of Royal Oak lies a local’s favourite bar, The Zookeeper’s Son. They’re known for their lush greenery which creeps up the walls, matched to contemporary decor for an upmarket feel - especially at the rooftop bar with a retractable roof that can host up to 120 people this Christmas. The Main Bar inside is a spacious, lively spot at the heart of everything that will keep your friends, family, and colleagues endlessly entertained. Perched just above the bar is a Mezzanine area for up to 80 people that has an exclusive feel, with railings separating it from the rest of the space and plenty of natural light sweeping through from the outdoor balcony.
